Develop your Digital Skills and earn SQA Core Skills awards to add to your CV!

Does Microsoft 365 leave you bamboozled? You're not alone! Since the discontinuation of Microsoft Office in 2023, thousands of people are looking to update their digital skills and learn how to use cloud-based apps on MS 365 effectively and efficiently.

With the WEA, you'll be supported every step of the way by our friendly tutors. You'll also develop your skills between sessions through our learning portal, Canvas.

Join us for an engaging, tutor-led, beginner-level course and we'll support you to:

  • Gain a nationally recognised digital qualification (SQA Core Skills ICT at SCQF Level 4), boosting your employability and preparing yourself for future study.
  • Master Microsoft Office 365: build skills and confidence in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel through taking part in weekly tutor-led Zoom sessions.
  • Access our online learning portal, Canvas: Take part in hands-on activities, complete fun quizzes, and watch videos and presentations that will help develop your learning between sessions.
  • Develop digital safety awareness so you can work safely and securely.
  • Discover AI, and make it work for you!
  • Overcome maths anxiety: Learn how to manage maths-related digital stress and discover practical coping strategies that will help you tackle numbers with confidence.
  • Core Skills Numeracy awards in Graphical Information and Calculations, Level 3 (optional).

The course will run online via Zoom with our friendly, experienced tutor Rob Bray. If you wish to go for the SQA Core Skills ICT (Level 4) award and/or the Core Skills Numeracy units (level 3), you will also need to complete around 2 - 3 hours of self-directed study between sessions. Alternatively, you can work towards a Digital Badge, which would involve around 1 - 2 hours of study per week between sessions.
