Welcome to our Esol Literature course. This Literature course is designed for ESOL Entry 1 students to introduce them to English literature. During the course, students will explore short stories, poems, and simple texts. The course focuses on basic comprehension, vocabulary building, and enjoyment of literature. Activities include reading aloud, group discussions, and creative responses. By the end of the course, students will have developed basic reading skills, expanded their vocabulary, and gained an appreciation for English literary works at an introductory level. This course is free for those who live in Southampton.

This course is designed for pre-entry ESOL learners to introduce basic digital skills. During the course, students will learn fundamental computer skills such as using a keyboard, mouse, and navigating the internet. The course covers basic software applications like word processing and email. Practical exercises and interactive tutorials will help students gain confidence in using digital tools effectively. By the end of the course, students will have developed essential skills for using computers and the internet, empowering them to navigate the digital world with confidence.

By the end of the course you should have lots of different pottery pieces and different pottery skills. You will be in a group with others and led by a talented Arts and Crafts tutor. Your work will be taken away and fired in a kiln by the tutor and it will be yours to keep!

This course in art appreciation provides close attentions to particular works of art from two important artists, Leonardo da Vinci and Albrecht Dürer, working in Europe in the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. The focus will be upon specific paintings, drawings and prints in relation to their concept of beauty. The course will present a range of work by both artists and each week will select one work for a Close View and detailed attention. Particular attentions will be given to Dürer’s painting in Venice and to his woodcuts and engravings; to Leonardo’s drawings and to his work in Milan.

Welcome to the 'Language for Numeracy' course! This course is designed to help you understand and use English in mathematical contexts. You will learn to read and write numbers, understand math terms, and solve basic problems. You will learn how to use measurements, handle money, and tell the time. The course aims to improve your English skills through practical numeracy tasks in a supportive learning environment. Your tutor will encourage the use of language around numeracy and you will work with incredible students from all around the world that can compare language used for numeracy from their countries.

If you’ve made Christmas cards previously you will know that it is never too early to start! Craft in general is known to have a positive effect on the mental health of those that do it, and card-making is fun, productive and very rewarding: you create lovely, personalised cards to delight the special people in your life. We will cover all aspects of card making from cutting the bases to adding the final elements of bling. We will try various fun folds, different techniques and a range of materials to create our stunning cards. This course is suitable for those with some experience of card making and a well-stocked craft room. Come and join us and build on your existing craft skills and add some new ones to your crafting library!

This confidence training will prepare you to feel comfortable stepping back into the classroom. This short course can help you bridge the gaps in your confidence and overcome the obstacles standing in your way to get back into learning. The objective of this course is to get you into a positive mindset to achieve your goals. You will practise a variety of confidence-building exercises to help that mindset shift come from within.
