Course description
This Literature course is designed specifically for ESOL Entry 1 students to introduce them to the world of English literature. During the course, students will explore a variety of literary genres including short stories, poems, and simplified texts. The course aims to develop basic reading skills, expand vocabulary, and foster an appreciation for literature. Throughout the course, students will engage in activities such as reading aloud, participating in group discussions, and responding creatively to texts. These activities are designed to enhance comprehension, improve pronunciation, and encourage critical thinking skills. Students will also learn to identify basic literary elements such as characters, settings, and main ideas. The course emphasises enjoyment and exploration of literature in a supportive and interactive environment. By the end of the course, students will have gained confidence in reading English texts, expanded their vocabulary, and developed an understanding of different literary forms.
