Course Outline Come and join our enthusiastic tutor and a group of likeminded crafters as we immerse ourselves in the rewarding world of festive card making. If you’ve made Christmas cards previously you will know that it is never too early to start! Craft in general is known to have a positive effect on the mental health of those that do it, and card-making is fun, productive and very rewarding: you create lovely, personalised cards to delight the special people in your life. We will cover all aspects of card making from cutting the bases to adding the final elements of bling. We will try various fun folds, different techniques and a range of materials to create our stunning cards. This course is suitable for those with some experience of card making and a well-stocked craft room. Come and join us and build on your existing craft skills and add some new ones to your crafting library!

Course description

A reasonably stocked craft room is a must for this course whether you are a

beginner or more experienced card maker. Join us and unleash your creativity

as you learn the secrets of matting and layering, fussy cutting, choosing

correct ink for the job and where to buy your stuff!

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and share ideas with

other like minded crafters. We will be using a digital learning platform canvas

to set clear objectives and upload our completed works.

During this course we will look at:

· Importance of accurate measuring, folding and cutting card bases

· Choosing the right ink for specific stamping needs

· Cutting safely using a craft knife

· Share your experience, ideas and expertise in a supportive

environment.

During each session you will have the opportunity to comment on your

classmates work, and receive feedback on your own, from both your tutor and

fellow crafters.

This sharing of what we have made can be incredibly inspiring and instil confidence in our own work and creative ability. Join us and let your imagination run wild within a safe, friendly group. For this course you will need: v Cardstock white or coloured, or bought card bases v Patterned paper pads – festive v Old Christmas cards (if you have any) v Cutting tools – scissors, craft knife, trimmer, guillotine v Adhesive – glue, tape runner, double sided tape v Assorted embellishments – stickers, ephemera pieces, sentiments etc After completing this creative course, you will be able to design and make your own greeting cards and when you are ready for something more check out our web site and search for another craft course!
