This is a 6 week watercolour painting course for anyone wanting to learn or improve their painting skills. You will learn how to draw and paint within a group of like-minded budding artists. Guidance and support is offered throughout the course from our talented tutor, to develop your artistic skills. Art Practical: The Process of Abstract Art

These sessions are suitable for learners with experience or without experience. Recourses will be suggested for learners to participate who have no practical art experience and full direction is given to enable all learners to participate. These details will be shared with learners before the start of the course. Learners will be able to participate just using pencil, paper and tracing paper. If they wish to be more experimental, they may wish to choose painting or collage materials The sessions are delivered online by power point presentation with lecture and discussion. Art Practical: Drawing from Nature

This drawing course will take place in the fascinating Victorian Bournemouth Natural Science Society. The Museum is a treasure trove of carefully preserved examples of natural form: butterflies, shells stuffed birds and skulls, which learners will be able to draw in pencil and coloured pencil - a small and intimate version of the Natural History Museum. Art and About: Sketching on the Southbank, Thames River & Bridges (July)

If you fancied yourself as an urban sketcher but never had the confidence to work outside alone, join one of these sociable morning or afternoon sessions to capture an aspect or view of London’s River Thames and Bridges by the vibrant Southbank. Whilst drawing on location, we will be using dry materials, pen/ink alongside watercolour for line and wash sketches and work with two sizes of sketchbook (A5 and A4/3). Art Practical: Day at the Museum

This is an opportunity to gain knowledge and insight into a Victorian way of life undertaking a drawing course in this extraordinary Art Gallery and Museum. Renowned nationally for a unique collection of Pre-Raphaelite and Victorian art and sculpture, it also showcases the home of the original owners Merton and Annie Russell-Cotes, which is almost completely intact with furniture and decorations. The couple made many overseas voyages, and brought back numerous objects from their travels, many of which are displayed in the Museum. The Mikado room houses a selection of the 100 trunk loads of Japanese artefacts purchased. There are also temporary exhibitions to sketch in, including a show of the work of May Morris, William Morris's daughter. Suitable for beginners and improvers.
