Course overview
This drawing course will take place in the fascinating Victorian Bournemouth Natural Science Society. The Museum is a treasure trove of carefully preserved examples of natural form: butterflies, shells stuffed birds and skulls, which learners will be able to draw in pencil and coloured pencil - a small and intimate version of the Natural History Museum. One to one instruction will be given by the tutor (a professional artist) This course is for complete beginners and those looking to improve their skills and develop their own style.
Course description
Learn to draw, acquiring skills of line tone and colour, inspired by beautiful objects such as butterflies, shells, fossils, stuffed birds and skulls. This course will take place in the inspiring setting of the Bournemouth Natural Science Society, a Victorian Museum. You can choose an object or two from this special collection and settle down for an absorbing morning, with one to one tuition from your tutor (a professional artist). By the end of the course both beginners and those with more experience will achieve a pencil and coloured pencil sketch showing improved skills, and gain some valuable insight into the natural world.
