Course description
Learners will be able to understand the basics timing using African drummjng. You will be able to immerse yourself in the vibrant and dynamic world of African drumming in this interactive course. Designed for beginners and rhythm enthusiasts, this class introduces participants to the fundamentals of rhythm, timing, and teamwork through traditional African drumming techniques. Learners will explore the cultural and historical significance of African drumming, and its traditions. You will learn to play basic patterns and rhythms, and experience the joy of collective music-making. You will also practice playing traditional African drum patterns and techniques and be able to explore improvisation and creative expression within a group setting. You ill build up your confidence in performing rhythms individually and collaboratively. The experience is therapeutic and you will experience the unifying power of drumming No prior drumming experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a sense of rhythm.
