This is for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level. This course is for people working at Pre-entry level ESOL. Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to study this English course in Writing. This is so you can access our digital learning platform, Canvas. We use Canvas for homework, and also for tasks and activities in the classroom.

To provide an overview of the social impact of World War 2 in relation to the Battle of Britain and the Blitz The course will also highlight the new global balance of power after the War in relation to the upsurge of America and the USSR as being the new power brokers in the Post-War world as evidenced by the new ‘Iron Curtain’ The second half of the course will feature the post war Labour government establishing a Welfare State and focussing on post war reconstruction as well as the early years of the reign of Elizabeth II in the 1950s

You will be able to recycle unwanted paper into new paper to use in a book. You will learn how pages can be stitched together to create a book. You will understand how different types of books can be made from the simplest, using one piece of paper, to a covered hardback book. You will also learn how fabric can be used to make a book and what a memory book is and how to make one.
