This is a pre-employment programme delivered online that is designed to support you into work within Adult Social Care. The programme will help you to prepare for work in a care setting. The programme consists of three elements: GMCA Care Certificate (where you will cover the theory elements of the Care Certificate), L1 Stress Awareness and L1 Mental Health Awareness (additional accredited courses you can join if suitable). Once you have completed the course with WEA, GM Careers will place you for a working interview in a social care setting. This is designed like a working interview, to give you the opportunity to try out the working environment.

This is a pre-employment programme delivered online that is designed to support you into work within Adult Social Care. The programme will help you to prepare for work in a care setting by covering key elements of the adult social care pathway, including digital skills, and the opportunity to take a Level 1 course in mental health awareness. You will also gain skills in writing CVs and application forms for social care jobs.  Basically,  this programme is made up of three parts - a value-based interview and training with us at the WEA. If you complete the training successfully you are guaranteed an interview with a social care employer.  This is a working interview, to give you the opportunity experience working in a caring environment. This is a closed course for referrals for the DWP only.

The course is suitable for all ages and abilities and for those who are experienced and who have some prior knowledge of yoga. "Personal Care: An Introduction to Reflexology" is a foundational course that introduces students to the ancient practice of reflexology. This course offers a comprehensive overview of reflexology principles, techniques, and benefits, focusing on promoting overall well-being and relaxation. Students will learn how to identify and stimulate reflex points on the feet, hands, and ears to support the body’s natural healing processes. Through a combination of theoretical lessons and hands-on practice, participants will gain the skills needed to perform basic reflexology sessions for personal care or to complement other wellness practices.

All our Care2 courses are completely free for unpaid carers (or those who have previously been carers). You do not need to receive a carer's allowance to qualify. If you are unsure, please contact our call centre advisors who will be able to assist you. If you suffer from stress, physical or emotional trauma, this may well be the course for you. This short non-accredited course will guide you through how you can apply Emotional freedom techniques (EFT) as a complementary treatment to support you in dealing with physical pain and emotional distress. It is also referred to as tapping or psychological acupressure. People who use this technique believe tapping the body can create a balance in your energy system and treat pain. This course offers interactive discussion and easy to learn practical techniques that millions of people use every day. With regular practice you may be surprised at how you can make a difference to your health and wellbeing.

WEA are proud to deliver this course in partnership with Stockport Continuing Education Service. This course is intended for learners already at Entry Level 3 on their ESOL pathway who require some extra support to learn the specialist vocabulary and employability skills related to care work. After this course learners may continue their studies by joining our Step into Care programme leading to a work placement in a care setting.
