Textiles and Fashion: Summer flowers hand embroidery

This course has been designed to help beginners with a basic knowledge of hand embroidery to increase their stitch library and for intermediate stitchers who would like to learn the process of creating their own designs.

The sessions will begin with the focus on basic design skills for hand embroidery and the introduction of themes such as space and balance when creating a design.

You will also learn how to transfer the design created to fabric and use colours to create a theme with embroidery threads, giving you the skills to make a design that is within the course theme but is still personalised.

As the course progresses, there will be a number of different stitches to learn each week and apply to the design you have created.

This online course has the benefits of learning from home but also sharing your work with other learners, discussion, and tutor feedback. You will be able to use the skills you have learned to move onto other textile and sewing based courses.
