Course description
This is an online music theory course offered by tutor Lorna Poole. Come and improve your music theory online via Zoom and Canvas. You will improve your skills in - reading sheet music; understanding key signature; understanding time signature; working out intervals; and reading clefs. To take part in this course, you must be able to: read notes in at least the treble clef; understand sharps/flats and also the basics of key signature; understand the basics of rhythm and time signature. The tutor will undertake an initial assessment with you at the start of the course to confirm suitability. Over the course, you will learn how to: identify the triad chords available in a major key; describe the relationship between key signature and modal scales; describe the difference between simple and compound time; identify at least three different intervals by listening; identify notes in the treble, bass and alto clef - plus additional wider theory skills.
