This community interpreter course gives you an introduction to the language and interpreting skills needed for this type of work. It can teach you foundational concepts to test your community interpreting skills informally with family or friends. This course can prepare you to help members of your family or community to overcome language barriers in their everyday lives. It can also help you decide if you’re interested in pursuing community interpreting jobs. There will be once face to face session on 13th February at at venue TBC. This course is for Greater Peterborough and Cambridgeshire only. You must live in the Peterborough and Cambridgeshire postcode areas to get this course free.

This Pre-Entry Beginners English ESOL Conversation Class is designed for non-native speakers with little to no English proficiency. Held on Tuesday mornings in Brighton, East Sussex, in partnership with the Hangleton & Knoll Project, this course provides a supportive and welcoming environment for those starting their English language journey. The class focuses on developing basic conversational skills, essential vocabulary, and simple sentence structures through interactive activities, group discussions, and role-plays. Perfect for building confidence in speaking and understanding English, the course encourages learners to practice and improve at their own pace. This is part two of the beginners ESOL course. It is a continuation from part 1. This course is for people who live in Coventry who are beginners in learning English. It is a face-to-face course. The course will help you to start using English every day ready to apply for work in the UK. It will also improve your confidence to speak to people in English in other everyday situations, like going to the doctor, shopping, using public transport and speaking to your child’s teachers. You will start to learn some of the words and phrases needed to feel part of your community and become more independent in your life in the UK. This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority

Would you like to practice your English speaking and listening? Our Gloucester conversation club provides an informal, welcoming space for adult ESOL learners to practice their English, build confidence and develop social connections. Each session will be in a friendly, relaxed safe space and led by an experienced tutor. Learners will be encouraged to use their English and gentle tasks such as using questions will be used to facilitate this. Drinks will be provided throughout and learners will be given full support to explore their next steps within the WEA.
