Entry Level Essential Digital Skills: Study Skills
This course is structured to cover key aspects of study skills tailored to prepare learners for the Entry Level 3 and Level 1 Essential Digital Skills Qualifications. Topics will include: using Canvas (the WEA’s virtual learning platform), organising course files, online safety, digital note-taking, researching on the internet, online communication (email and messaging) and using different digital devices.
You will learn through a wide variety of methods including interactive lectures, practical exercises, group work and discussions.
You will also gain an understanding of what to expect from the Essential Digital Skills qualifications.

History: Lawrence of Arabia
Thomas Edward Lawrence CB DSO (16 August 1888 – 19 May 1935), better known as Lawrence of Arabia, was a British archaeologist, army officer and diplomat, who became renowned for his role in the Arab Revolt in Sinai and Palestine between 1916 and 1918 against the Ottoman (Turkish) Empire during the First World War. His strategy and tactics, and the breadth and diversity of his activities and associations, along with his ability to describe them vividly in writing, earned him international fame as Lawrence of Arabia, a title used for David Lean’s film of 1962, and the source of numerous biographies.

Creative Writing: Writing from the Heart, Exploring Personal Experiences
This course will focus on your personal experiences and how these experiences may form the basis not only for autobiography and memoir, but for autobiographical fiction and poetry.
The course will be composed of two workshops, each designed to explore one or more areas of personal writing, through discussion, hands-on writing
experiments and guidance on how to improve technical aspects of your prose or poetry. By the conclusion of the course you will have completed the first drafts of two pieces of writing.
