This 5 week course delves into the works of 5 street artists, including Banksy, Blek Le Rat, JR, Blu and Os Gemeos. Each week explores key art concepts including colour and composition through samples of their work. You will engage in group discussions, take notes and recall information. By the end of the course, you will be able to name significant street artists, describe their artistic methods, spot similarities and differences among their work desconstruct essential components of artworks and select a preferred piece based on personal opinion.

In this course, we will discuss in detail works from lesser-known painters of the Renaissance era. Since the High Renaissance is much better known, we will look at artists from the fifteenth century, who were very highly thought of at the time. They were influential and sought-after by the powerful in Florence.

This community interpreter course gives you an introduction to the language and interpreting skills needed for this type of work. It can also help you decide if you’re interested in pursuing community interpreting jobs. There will be once face to face session on 13th February at at venue TBC. This beginner’s blogging course covers essential lessons in both writing and setting up your blog. You’ll learn creative writing techniques to make your blogs engaging, and digital skills to make sure you can set up and maintain your site. This course is aimed at beginners, so don’t worry if this is new to you. This beginners blogging course covers the basics of launching a blog. Become familiar with the Content Management System (CMS) where you will upload your blog. You will also receive CMS training to teach you how to set up and maintain your website. Learn to publish and promote your blog.

This is a fun and interactive course, ideal to follow on from the Beginners BSL. The intention of this course is to develop skills in BSL for community engagement, further learning and possibly employment in a school/work setting. The course will run for 14 guided learning hours and will be taught online using Zoom and Canvas as a Virtual Learning Platform. Learners will be fully supported in achieving the learning outcomes for the course and the intention is that the course will help them to further develop their confidence in order for them to engage in signed conversations with their peers.

Whether you are a seasoned drummer or just getting to grips with the basics, this practical class in African drumming will inspire you with the next steps in music and culture. We will be using the Djembe Drums which are a percussion instrument originating from West Africa. Drums will be provided for your use during the class. Our experienced tutor will guide you to play the Djembe drum as part of a group of friendly, like-minded people. You will learn to further develop your repertoire of notes, referred to as ‘bass,’ ‘tone’ and ‘slap’ to create different sounds. This is a great class to further your skills, de-stress and enjoy the music.
