This is a pre-employment programme delivered online that is designed to support you into work within Adult Social Care. The programme will help you to prepare for work in a care setting. The programme consists of up to three elements: GMCA Care Certificate (where you will cover the theory elements of the Care Certificate), L1 Stress Awareness and L1 Mental Health Awareness (additional accredited courses you can join if suitable). Once you have completed the course with WEA, GM Careers will place you for a working interview in a social care setting. This is designed like a working interview, to give you the opportunity to try out the working environment.

The course is suitable for all ages and abilities and for those who are experienced and who have some prior knowledge of yoga. The practices will involve a wide range of techniques including posture, breathwork, mindfulness and meditation, study and reflection. Yoga is a traditional and contemporary class. Each week there is a guided practice where we will work on a variety of practices and techniques modified and adapted to suit all needs. You will be introduced to yoga in a careful, step by step approach with demonstrations and explanations of key postures, breathing techniques, meditation techniques and themes from the teachings.

"Personal Care: An Introduction to Reflexology" is a foundational course that introduces students to the ancient practice of reflexology. This course offers a comprehensive overview of reflexology principles, techniques, and benefits, focusing on promoting overall well-being and relaxation. Students will learn how to identify and stimulate reflex points on the feet, hands, and ears to support the body’s natural healing processes. Through a combination of theoretical lessons and hands-on practice, participants will gain the skills needed to perform basic reflexology sessions for personal care or to complement other wellness practices.
