Course overview

During this course, we will look at keeping you safe within your workplace. We will look at fire safety, signage, electrical safety, kitchen and food safety and manual handling around. Develop knowledge of how health and safety works within the workplace and who is responsible, recording and reporting measures and the requirements needed by employees, employers and organisations. This course will also look at health and safety at home and how to ensure yours and your family’s safety. This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority.

Course description

During this course we will look at keeping you safe within your home and workplace. We will look at fire safety, signage, electrical safety, kitchen and food safety and manual handling. During the course we will look at safe ways of working, including the Covid rules. Identify and explain the fire safety procedure and signage. Identify health and safety signage around organisations and who is responsible for ensuring these rules are followed. Demonstrate safe ways of using manual handling around within the home and workplace. Identify and explain the health and safety rules used within a workplace and identify who to talk to about a health and safety concern. Develop your knowledge and understanding of the rules and regulations around health and safety and the laws that protect us all and the importance of adhering to these and the consequences to business, customer service and reputations.
