Course overview
This supportive introductory course helps learners with little or no English develop the language needed to take part in simple numeracy activities. Through practical, real‑life tasks, you will learn key vocabulary for numbers, money, dates, time, sizes and everyday measurements, while building the confidence to understand and use English in a learning environment.
Course description
Working in a friendly group, you will practise speaking and listening in short, meaningful activities, supported by visuals and hands‑on materials. The course focuses on developing essential language skills before joining a numeracy or ESOL course, helping you follow instructions, ask for help, share information and take part in learning at your own pace. No previous English or maths experience is required—just a willingness to try new things in a calm and encouraging space.
