What we’ll cover
Develop your understanding of numbers, including odd and even numbers, decimals, fractions, and three digit numbers.
Learn to multiply, divide, and express remainders.
Carry out calculations involving money and time.
Develop your understanding of 2-D and 3-D shapes and expand your vocabulary to be able to explain their features.
Read and interpret data in tables, lists, diagrams, and bar charts.
Entry 2 functional skills maths courses teach you essential maths skills for employment and learning. They are adult maths courses with a practical focus.
When you finish entry 2 level you can progress to entry 3 functional skills maths courses. There are also “get ready” courses between each level to prepare you for the next course. The highest level is level 2.
Level 2 maths functional skills courses are accepted as a GCSE equivalent for many jobs and courses. They can help you do an apprenticeship, higher education course, or go to University.
What to expect
This maths course takes around 60 hours to complete.
Functional skills courses are ideal for flexible learning. You can choose to take an in-person or online functional skills course.
To take this functional maths course you need to have a digital device such as a computer or tablet. You’ll also need an internet connection. This is so you can access our digital learning platform, Canvas.
Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a skills check. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam. It’s for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level.
