Would you like to help children gain confidence in their reading as well as English and maths? Then this taster course is for you. This course will give you information about various roles in our schools and parenting pathway. It will give you an insight into the basic skills and knowledge necessary to work in administration, technical, or support roles in a learning environment. You will be introduced to a range of strategies used to help children in schools or your own children at home to become more confident in their ability. This course is ideal for anyone looking to progress onto work or volunteering in an education setting. Course description

This taster course will give you a summary of the background knowledge and confidence to become an effective support staff in a school or college or help your children’s learning at home. You will learn about the roles of staff and external professionals, how aims and values are maintained, the purpose of policies and procedures, the impact of transitions and diverse influences on pupils’ development. You will learn about supporting children with their reading, maths, English and homework and what kind of strategies are used. You will look at children’s development through play and how best to support them. On this course you will learn about the diverse types of schools and colleges as organizations, children and young people’s development, communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults, children and young people’s Health and Safety and Legislation, guidelines, policies & procedures for Safeguarding. You will Learn about practical strategies for encouraging children’s social, emotional and behavioural development to support them through school This taster is aimed at those who would like to progress into work or volunteering in an educational setting. This course will introduce you to the essential knowledge and confidence to work effectively in any educational setting.

Most of our courses are government funded but if you don't qualify or need alternative financial help to access them then let us know.
