Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
Every individual has the right to live a fulfilled life. This course will offer you transferable skills when considering how to either work as a Support worker in a professional setting, or will support you to become more proficient at supporting someone you are close to. During this course you will gain insight into how to support someone with their daily life and wellbeing, including people living with physical disabilities and/or mental health issues. As a support worker, you may find yourself working in a variety of settings. The day-to-day job of a support worker will differ depending on the needs of the person, or people they are supporting. The main aim is to help people, whether that is at home, at school or work, enabling them to live more independently by offering them both physical and emotional support. During the course you will learn tactics to manage challenging and stressful situations. You will also learn how to adapt approaches to suit individual needs. Activities will include the use of case studies to support your learning and the design of an equality and diversity poster.
