Course overview
Course description
The first thing you’ll learn is that yoga is about so much more than bending into complicated poses. During this course, you’ll
Understand basic breathing and meditation techniques as you take the first steps into self-care
Stretch and learn basic poses that feel right for you
Learn some simple asanas and basic flows
Start the sessions with sun salutations to warm up and feel energised
The beautiful thing about yoga practice is that it can be adapted to a wide range of abilities in the same environment.
This yoga course is appropriate for complete beginners so don’t worry if you’ve never tried it before. If you need an impact-free option, you can try seated yoga.
After this course you can progress to the improver’s yoga course. You can also try other types of yoga courses, for example Yin yoga or hot yoga.
You’ll need access to the internet to take this beginner’s yoga course. Your tutor will upload useful materials to Canvas, the WEA’s digital learning platform.
