Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.

Course overview
Course description
In this lip-reading course, you will gain valuable skills to enhance your communication abilities. You will learn to identify key lip movements associated with different sounds, enabling you to attempt spoken words more accurately. You will also discover practical strategies to improve your lip-reading skills in everyday situations, such as adjusting your seating position and utilising visual cues.
Furthermore, you will explore the importance of effective communication and learn how to apply these principles in your interactions with others. Additionally, you will be introduced to technology tools that can assist you in emergency situations, such as emergency alert systems and mobile apps.
By the end of this course, you will be better equipped to confidently engage in conversations and overcome communication challenges.
