Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.

Course description
Even wondered what it would be like to write n the style of a famous author? It might be fun but we could also gain valuable knowledge, motivation and inspiration for our own writing. Have fun, find inspiration and develop creativity as we put the focus on tapping into the styles, structures and themes of a selection of iconic writers. A fun, friendly and structured approach to gain fiction writing knowledge and written word skills and, importantly, aid you in finding inspiration, putting pen paper and getting writing. Mystery, romance, fantasy, hardboiled crime, or a touch of the ghostly and gothic or something far more off the wall – find inspiration as we consider the kind of words, characters and styles which suit a tale written by a selection of famous authors. . We get motivated and get writing, mixing group activity with individual writing tasks, feedback and discussion. Whether or not we are fans of these authors or not - there are some valuable lesions to be learnt and fun to be had. Lewis Carroll, Raymond Chandler, Barbara Cartland, M.R James, Earnest Hemmingway, Hunter S.Thompson.
