Course overview
Course description
The course looks at how diseases have had an effect history. It considers a series of diseases against their social political and intellectual framework. We will look at the impact upon key individuals thus changing the course of events, or upon large numbers such as the Black Death. or even whole populations (the Aztecs) . Our overview will cross several centuries and include consideration whether disease decided the outcome of Napoleon's Russia campaign of 1812.
