Course overview
Course description
Further develop your music making skills in a supportive online group!
This intermediate level course follows on from a beginners course which took place in the Autumn term. However, students who already have some basic skills in areas such as composition, music theory or performance may be able to join the group.
Topics covered on the course include creating and recording original music, as well as interpreting existing music.
Students will create and interpret music using a MIDI keyboard and recording software of their choice, including free online software SoundTrap.
Because this is a practical course, it is unfortunately not possible to take part in the course without a MIDI keyboard. The tutor would be happy to advise on the purchase and set up of a MIDI keyboard before the course starts if needed.
It will also be possible to incorporate any other instruments that you play into the course, and singing is actively encouraged!
Students must be comfortable with sharing their work with the group at regular points throughout the course in order to receive supportive feedback and optional suggestions.
