Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.

Course overview
Course description
Being able to print your own images onto paper and fabric is fun and this course will show you that you can produce a variety of prints without any previous knowledge or a printing press.
During this course you will have the opportunity to learn how to use natural items such as leaves and feathers to make a print.
You will be able to make and use a reusable surface for paint.
You will see how household items such as bubble wrap, string and tubes can be used to print.
You will know how to make a printing block from craft foam and use it to print from.
You will be able to use a commercial stencil to print from, as well as make your own stencil.
You will understand how to ensure that text prints the right way round when printed and also how to ensure that, if an image is directional, how to make it face the way you want it to.
You will have an opportunity to try carving into lino and printing from it.
You will discover what Tetra Pak is how it can be used for printing.
You will gain an understanding of printing terms such as Intaglio and Relief printing.
You will know how to choose what paint is needed to print onto paper as well as fabric.
By the end of the course you will have improved your knowledge and confidence in some printing techniques and be able to use them to produce items such as greeting cards and textile art.
