Course overview
Course description
This art based workshop will look at Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Explore each season by learning about the colours that represent different times of the year and then be guided to use that knowledge to produce art work. Appreciate the colours that are linked to each season through the nature that thrives at that time. Find out about animals, birds and their lives through the changing seasons. Describe the habitats that the animals live in and how these change through the seasons. Recreate the mood that each season evokes through practical work. Examine literature on the theme of the seasons by reading stories and poems. Find out how the authors create a mood with their work and how the reader then reacts to the words. This course will give opportunities for the student to express ideas through group work and individual tasks. With this knowledge the students can then create and develop their practical art skills. The sessions will involve practical tasks that illustrate the different aspects of the various themes. The course will also develop social skills through discussion time and provide the environment to encourage expression.
Outcome: To be able to portray knowledge about the seasons in practical activities.
