Course description

In this course, I teach you the foundations of working with acrylic paint and how they are the simplest and most effective way for an absolute beginner to learn how to paint successfully. They can be used in thin layers like watercolours or in thicker, more opaque applications like oil paint. They dry quickly and can be diluted and cleaned with water, making them simple to use and odourless. From light and shade to understanding composition and colour, this course reveals the secrets of painting in acrylics. Beginning with a landscape painting, the course moves on to a portrait in monochrome and one in colour. It explains, in detail, how to create a likeness, colour mixing and how to blend shades and colours. Students experiment with abstract painting and design, and finish with a still-life project. More experienced students can concentrate on their own personal projects from the beginning and are free to choose their own subjects and to progress at their own pace.
