Course overview

This online single session short course has been designed for carers, former carers and those who are being cared for. Take a bit of time out of your day, to learn a simple new skill in a fun and relaxed environment. The session will take you through some simple handmade book making techniques and requires minimal materials that you will mostly have to hand in a domestic environment. Learning new skills helps to boost creativity, problem solving and reduce stress levels, and one of these short courses is ideal to help increase these skills.

Course description

This session is suitable for complete beginners, and you do not need any previous experience of book making, just bring yourself and the basic materials listed below.

These books are fun to make and can be used to make mini notebooks, cute journals, sketchbooks or a small gift of gratitude to someone special.

On the day of the session, you will need to bring materials that you can create a simple handmade book with, including A4 plain paper, this can be simple printer/photocopy paper, scissors for paper, ruler, Prittstick (other craft glue) cardboard (such as cereal box thickness)pencil and if you have any some old wrapping paper or decorative craft papers.

The course is a suitable length for carers, the cared for and former carers to have a short break and take part in an activity that is relaxing and easy to access.
