Course overview

Would you like to find out more about ADHD? This course will help you learn about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. You will discover other conditions that are commonly experienced alongside ADHD. A big focus of the course is on how to support a child, young person or an adult with ADHD. You will gain an understanding of a range of different strategies and interventions which may be beneficial in a home, school or even work setting. You’ll also find out how assessments are carried out and how to apply for an EHCP to give a child that all important extra support in school.  

Course description

This is a short course about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). You will find out about gender differences, possible causes or risk factors and behaviours that challenge that may have a significant impact on the individual and their family and friends.

We will also look at some of the other conditions that may be experienced by the individual. You will learn how ADHD can affect the individual’s daily life and their learning, personal and career goals.

You will discuss with your fellow learners strategies and interventions that may benefit the individual and their family. You will learn what to do if you suspect a child has ADHD and will gain an understanding of the diagnostic process.

In addition, you will gain knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and be able to talk about how to apply for an EHCP, the benefits of doing so and where to go for further support.

We don't want anything to stand in your way when it comes to bringing Adult learning within reach so if you need anything to support you to achieve your goals then speak to one of our education experts during your enrolment journey. Most of our courses are government funded but if you don't qualify or need alternative financial help to access them then let us know.
