Course description

To become a better writer, we need to read a lot: different authors, across different genres and forms. This course will introduce you to a range of texts for close reading to dig deep as to what makes the writing effective. How has the writer considered the reader’s engagement? What has the writer set up and how? How is tension felt and interspersed? When is showing impactful and when is telling helpful?
