Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.
Course overview
Course description
Learners will be provided with and read a book called ‘Street Cat Bob’, this book is for learners at Entry 2. Learners will learn new vocabulary and develop an understanding of ‘homelessness’, its impact and consequences. Learners will do a range of activities to develop their reading and writing skills to understand a text and extract information and present in their own words.
Improving my reading with Quick Reads is an ESOL course for adults. You will improve your English language reading skills. It’s aimed at Entry 2 so some existing prior knowledge is helpful.
Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a skills check. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam. It’s for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level. Our friendly team will contact you to start your skills check as part of your booking.
What to expect
This short course takes 25 hours hours to complete. It gives you more opportunities to learn the skills required to progress on your ESOL pathway.
Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to study this English course for beginners. This is so you can access our digital learning platform, Canvas.
