Course overview
Course description
Based on acrylics this course takes students through all the basic skills in painting and acts as a gateway to higher levels. From light and shade to understanding composition and colour, the course reveals the secrets of colour mixing and blending. Beginning with a landscape painting, the course moves on to a portrait in monochrome, then one in colour, figure drawing, painting a still life and finally, a personal project. More experienced students can concentrate on their own personal projects from the beginning.
Recommended materials:
HB pencil, eraser, sharpener, A3 cartridge pad.
A basic acrylic paint set. Recommended colours: cadmium red, cadmium yellow, lemon yellow, yellow ochre, burnt umber, burnt sienna, cerulean blue, primary blue, ultramarine, black and white, mixing palette, brushes.
