Course overview
Experiment with a range of materials and complete a number of exciting projects in art including landscape painting and a personal project. This course offers expert but accessible instruction in drawing, colour mixing, landscape painting and a personal project such as a portrait or abstract design. The course takes place at Ashley Place, which is a residential home for adults with a physical disability, but the course is open to everyone from the community with or without a disability.
Course description
This course is introductory, but students are welcome to experiment with the techniques taught beyond the class and have their external work discussed and assessed. All materials are provided, but students are welcome to bring their own materials and are encouraged to choose their own source materials such as landscape and portrait photographs. We will experiment with a range of materials from pencils to charcoal and watercolour paint and use them to complete a number of exciting projects in art including landscape painting in black and white and colour. We will finish the course off with a personal project, which will give you the opportunity to express yourself freely using the techniques learnt over the weeks.
