This face-to-face course will refresh and expand some of the Greek you have learnt in the past and it will increase your confidence in communicating with the locals when in Greece or Cyprus. It will also give you a deeper insight into the Greek lifestyle and culture. The course is taught by a well-qualified and experienced native speaker with many years’ teaching experience. Course description

Build on your existing knowledge of Greek and boost your speaking and listening skills so that you can communicate more confidently and effectively on a range of topics with Greek friends and acquaintances, or simply the locals when in Greece or Cyprus.

Topics include talking about your daily life and routine, cooking and recipes, past events, and understanding information about an ancient civilisation.

The emphasis will be on developing your conversation skills and improving your fluency and accuracy in a friendly and supportive atmosphere and through a variety of fun activities, games and roleplays. You will also consolidate and improve your understanding and knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, and your reading and writing skills. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and be offered some personalised vocabulary. This course requires the purchase of a book that usually retails at around £40 or significantly less when it goes on offer from time to time.

The course is taught by a well-qualified and experienced native speaker with many years’ teaching experience who will help you explore the language and the culture further and increase your confidence in using your Greek language skills.

This course is for learners who are at intermediate level and it requires at least some previous knowledge of past and future tenses. If you are not sure if this course is right for you, feel free to discuss it with WEA staff at skills check.
