Course description

Behind everything…” Harewood House’s beauty is part of our heritage to be admired but it looks to it’s history with care and respect. We will consider this part of heritage England as well as looking at the glory of the building and its grounds.

Considered one of the treasure houses of England, Harewood House near Leeds has a rich heritage of architecture and art for us to consider. Originally designed by John Carr and Robert Adam, with gardens designed by Capability Brown, we will also reflect on how the heritage of a house like this deals with its connections to the slave trade and the modern world.
