Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.

Course overview
Course description
This course is for elementary ESOL students. The course will help you build your confidence with numbers and language related to numbers. You will learn the vocabulary and language related to numbers. You will then apply this to everyday problems and situations through games, activities and written work. You will look at number sentences, function words, place value including units, tens and hundreds and calculations, including additions, subtraction and multiplication. This will be an interactive course with lots of opportunities to practice language around numbers. The course will help you build your confidence with numbers in a fun and engaging way. This course will lead to a Applying for jobs course. This course is part of Southampton City Council’s Multiply programme and is free to residents of Southampton who live in the following postcodes SO14, SO15, SO16, SO17, SO18 and SO19.
