Course overview
Course description
This course is an exciting new opportunity to develop your confidence and skills in speaking and
listening in English. You will learn basic conversational skills such as giving and asking for
personal information from friends and neighbours, as well as employment and learning based
vocabulary. This course is designed to provide a basic foundation of skills to allow learners to
access their next steps in a more formal learning setting.
In this beginners course, learners will develop confidence to interact with everyday topics like travel, health and where you live. We will focus on exchanging basic information such as asking for directions and giving your name and address to others, as well as vocabulary that is specific to education and employment-based settings.
We will practise short conversations and listening for information to help you develop the skills and confidence to talk to others, go to appointments, join groups and better explore and take part in the local community.
The course is designed to prepare learners for a more formal learning setting on their journey to more advanced ESOL courses
