Although Terri found fulfilment in her job as a part-time carer, she found herself wanting to learn new skills that would help her give back to her local community.
Her experience in a traditional classroom setting was tainted after struggling with dyslexia throughout her school years.
Finding the WEA has given Terri new confidence, empowering her to explore her creative side. The small group sessions have been pivotal to her learning and have helped her to understand the type of learning that works personally for her.

“My dyslexia means I often have trouble uploading my work on time. My tutor Mandy tailors the learning to me by getting me to write down the instructions so I can upload my work in my own time.”
Terri has now found a deeper connection to her local community and is looking forward to a future that includes fabric!
“My favourite achievement on this course has been learning how to use a sewing machine. To me, sewing is a life skill and something that should be taught in schools everywhere from a young age.
