Thanks to her WEA Step into Education classes, Khoula is building her confidence to start a career as a teaching assistant.

The young mum from Pakistan says her experience learning with the WEA has been “amazing” and helped her socialise more in the wider community, as well as in schools.

“Before the course I wasn’t doing much, just taking care of my home and family. I had problems with social interaction before the course but now I can socialise more confidently because of my classes.

I had problems with social interaction before the course but now I can socialise more confidently.

“I decided to take this course because I wanted to start my career as a teaching assistant and my experience of learning with WEA has been amazing.

I’ve learnt a lot of new information about schools and the education system, which helps me understand many things about schools for my four-year-old son. And I’m sure it will help me in the future when I get a job.”

Thanks to the benefits she’s received from her classes, Khoula said she has recommended WEA courses to many of her friends too.
