Employability & Skills: SWAP: Introduction to customer service
Working in partnership with Norwich Job Centre and Seetec Pluss, the WEA offers the Introduction to Customer Service Course to equip participants with essential customer service skills for employment. Learners will interact with Aviva, participate in mock interviews, and have the opportunity for a real interview with Aviva. The course provides a comprehensive overview of customer service, helps identify transferable skills, and prepares participants for successful job interviews.

Literature: Nature Writers (Prose and Poetry)
Interested in Nature writers who have worked with prose and poetry? This day school will explore the works of John Clare, Emily Bronte, and Gretel Ehrlich, with a glance at other relevant authors. Resources will be available on for pre- and post-course reading. The day will include presentations and group discussions on each writer’s work, moving between specific writings and the broader cultural context. This will help us understand how fiction connects to the ‘real’ world.

Architecture: Modern Architecture: In Tune with the Past?
It is arguably a greater challenge for a modern architect to sympathetically expand the use of historic buildings, than to create new free-standing architecture. We will critically assess what a range of architects have achieved – including Norman Foster at the British Museum, Rick Mather at the Ashmolean in Oxford, and Herzog and de Meuron in creating and then expanding Tate Modern.

History: JB Priestley's Journey
This course focuses on J.B. Priestley’s (1894-1984) journey around England in the 1930s, which was published as a book English Journey in 1934. At the time Priestley was a well-known novelist, playwright, screenwriter, social commentator and perhaps the most popular English writer of his day. Sponsored by his publisher Victor Gollancz and the Daily Mail , Priestley set out to travel the length and breadth of 1930s England from Southampton to the Black Country, the North East and Newcastle, Lincoln, Norfolk and Norwich. In doing so he revealed the condition of the English people, their society and their culture.
