The role of the community interpreter is an integral part of our changing communities and increasingly important. The interpreter acts as a bridge between communities and enables people to access the services they need and approach situations which otherwise would not be possible. The Level 2 Certificate in Preparing for the Community Interpreting Role enables learners who are speakers of other languages to develop the language and skills necessary to go on and train as Community Interpreters at Level 3 and Level 4. This is the ideal qualification for anyone who wants to enter the interpreting profession and become a paid interpreter or volunteer in the UK.

Working in the UK aims to improve your communication skills on preparing to work in the UK and will include health, shopping, and most importantly employability. This course will help students understand the culture of work in the UK. It will also help you get the skills needed for work in the UK. The course is for speakers of other languages, and it is highly recommended to complete this course before progressing on to ESOL courses. As it will build your confidence and broaden your vocabulary. This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority.

Would you like to start learning how to speak in Ukrainian? Would you like to communicate with your friends or colleagues who speak the language? Then this is the course for you. This is the basic course which runs for 8 weeks so you can learn the basics of the language. You do not have to do any assessments to join the course as this is for beginners. What we will cover: - Write the letters of the alphabet in upper and lower case; write simple sentences using basic punctuation; common English words that are used in everyday situations, complete very simple applications with personal details, and write simple text messages.

This is part 1 of intermediate pre-entry ESOL. This course will be held at Foleshill Women’s Training in Coventry. You will have ideally completed part 1 and part 2 of Beginners Pre-entry ESOL. This course is suitable for anyone who has some basic English Skills and is looking to develop further. This can be great if you are looking to get into work or just want to improve your confidence in English. Our expert tutors will help you improve your skills and work towards your personal goals. This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority and is run by the WEA.
