You will first need to enrol on Schools, Parenting and Child Development: Information and study skills L2. Q00015649. You will then be asked to complete a BKSB Initial Assessment. If you have L1 English you will be offered the course.

Get Ready for Level 2 functional skills English isn’t like learning English at school. This is an English course for adults created by adults. Develop practical English skills by learning language in context. Gain confidence writing a range of texts and boost your reading skills. This online, adult English course teaches you skills to support you in learning and work situations and is designed to prepare you to progress onto our accredited Level 2 Functional Skills English course. English functional skills courses are accepted as a GCSE equivalent for many jobs and courses. At level 2, it can help you do an apprenticeship, higher education course, or go to University. Take your first steps towards learning how to communicate in English in a friendly and welcoming class. Please note that this class is only available for learners whose children attend Woodnook Primary School for safeguarding reasons. This is the second course of two which will help you to learn ESOL whilst your children are in class. The course will run alongside in term 3 and continue to the summer holidays. The course will test your English level at the start and then the tutor will work with you to improve your language skills including; speaking, listening, reading and writing.
