WEA courses

This course is for women only. It will be held at the Dolphin Women's Centre, Washwood Heath, Birmingham and is an ESOL course for beginners. The course will help you to develop your basic speaking and listening, reading and writing skills in English. This is an English course aimed at adults for whom English is not their first language. You will get lots of opportuntities to practice your new English skills in groups and individually, you will also be given homework tasks so you can continue to practice at home.. It will help you learn basic English to study, work, and live in the UK. This ESOL reading course helps people who are just starting to learn English. It will help you gain confidence reading short texts and common words in English. There are also writing and speaking & listening courses at this level. This is the first course of six aimed at elementary (A1/A2) level learners. This six-week course is for those whose first language is NOT English and will practice all four major skills in each session to develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Although this is a low-level English course, learners should be able to recognise sounds of the English letters and read simple lines of text prior to joining so that they won’t struggle. Lessons will be delivered face-to-face using a range of teacher led and freer interactive activities to build learners’ proficiency and confidence in the English language.

This ESOL Reading course helps people who want to inprove their English. It will help you strengthen your ability to read letters, leaflets and other reading matter regulary seen in everyday life. What we will cover: - Using maps, diagrams and photographs to obtain information; identify and use common sources of information; find information from a range of different texts (such as letters, emails, leaflets, tables); and read words with common spelling patterns.

This ESOL course is for those looking to develop their English language at intermediate level. This course is for those preparing for the accredited ESOL E2 qualifications. It will help to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English.
