This is a General English Class aimed at elementary (A1 / ESOL Entry 1) level learners. This course is for those whose first language is NOT English and in it we will practice all four major skills in each session to develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Although this is a low-level English course, learners should be able to recognise sounds of the English letters and read simple lines of text prior to joining so that they won’t struggle. Lessons will be delivered face-to-face using a range of teacher led and freer interactive activities to build learners’ proficiency and confidence in the English language.

This course is designed to further develop your communication English skills to support you to develop awareness and knowledge of working in the UK. You will develop skills to build confidence to interact with other members of your community, building networking skills. This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority.

This course is for women only. It will be held at the Dolphin Women's Centre, Washwood Heath, Birmingham and is an ESOL course for beginners. The course will help you to develop your basic speaking and listening, reading and writing skills in English. This is an English course aimed at adults for whom English is not their first language. You will get lots of opportunities to practice your new English skills in groups and individually, you will also be given homework tasks so you can continue to practice at home.. The ESOL Living and working in UK course is designed for beginners who have little or no prior knowledge of the English language. In a face-to-face, comfortable and very positive environment you will have an opportunity to improve your skill and gain confidence. This course is focused on helping students develop fundamental speaking and listening skills in English. By the end of the course, students should be able to hold simple conversations and understand basic English conversations.
