This intermediate level course is for learners wanting to get ready for their Functional Skills English Level 1 Reading exam course. This 'Get Ready' course will help you practise the skills you need to move on to the following accredited level 1 course.

This is the fourth course of six, aimed at elementary (A1/A2) level learners. This six-week course is for those whose first language is NOT English and will practice all four major skills in each session to develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Although this is a low-level English course, learners should be able to recognise sounds of the English letters and read simple lines of text prior to joining so that they would not struggle. Lessons will be delivered face-to-face using a range of teacher led and freer interactive activities to build learners’ proficiency and confidence in the English language.

Develop practical English skills by learning language in context. Gain confidence writing a range of texts and boost your reading skills. This online, adult English course teaches you skills to support you in learning and work situations and is designed to prepare you to progress onto our accredited Level 2 Functional Skills English course. English functional skills courses are accepted as a GCSE equivalent for many jobs and courses. At level 2, it can help you do an apprenticeship, higher education course, or go to University. This course for digital skills is suitable for anyone who wants to learn or refresh their digital skills, from beginners to lower level (English Pre-entry to Entry 1 levels). You will learn digital related vocabulary and familiarise yourself with Zoom and/or Teams features to assist with online learning. On this course you will get to grips with keyboard functions and using Microsoft. Additionally, you will understand online safety and how to register with the NHS app.
