This TEAMS workshop has been created to celebrate Learning at Work Week. Are you looking for a relaxing hobby to help you unwind? Creating moments of calm in the day is essential for our emotional well-being and mental health. Step into the world of mindful doodling with this workshop and enjoy art for relaxation. Our experienced tutor will guide you step-by-step through the process, so no experience is necessary. Creating a Mandala can be a simple aid to achieving a state of mindfulness and best of all, you can easily complete this workshop whilst at your desk!

During this course learners will have the opportunity to make a small range of decorative items with paper and card in Summer themes. Explore the joy of creating items which you can give to friends and family who will appreciate the personal touch of your handmade cards, gifting and decorative items. Add a decorative touch to your home with items made. Bring your enthusiasm and prepare to discover the wonderful world of crafting and the fabulous range of possibilities it offers. Immerse yourself in crafting joy! To participate you do not need specialised equipment, a standard craft kit of scissors, glue, pencil, ruler, double-sided sticky tape, papers/card, coloured pens/pencils will be sufficient (details of specific materials required for each activity will be advised during the course). There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and share ideas as we craft along together within a friendly, supportive online environment. Expressionism is a key art movement of the early 20th century, which developed from 1905 in Germany and Austria. In this session, you will learn about one of the Expressionist groups, The Blue Rider. Centred around Munich and Murnau, the artists of this group developed a colourful and free style of painting. Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, Gabriele Munter, Alexei von Jawlensky, Marianne von Werefkin, August Macke and Paul Klee used strong colours and boldly simplified forms to express themselves. The day course is for anyone interested in advancing their landscape painting skills through a more abstract perspective. While open to participants of all levels, having some prior experience in painting would be beneficial. In a friendly and supportive group, the tutor will take us through gathering visual references, sketching, colour work and creating a landscape piece of work in your chosen media. Participants will have the opportunity to express their creativity and experiment with abstract approaches under the guidance of the tutor. Over the day we will spend time out in the landscape, where possible, taking photos and sketch book work. The aim is to explore abstract approaches and create an abstract landscape work.
