This course will support you to further develop your confidence to talk to others, or complete forms, speak with your child's schools, organisations, hospital staff, doctors or discuss other issues and where and how to gain support. This course aims to increase your confidence in using English in everyday situations for work and home building confidence and motivation. Develop English skills to support your child’s schoolwork, plan activities during half term and develop networking skills to find out how and where to access family days and activities. Develop your digital skills by using the WEA’ s online learning platform canvas and participant in online discussions and activities. This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority.

This is an English course for adults. It is aimed at speakers of other languages. ESOL courses are divided into three areas: reading, writing, and speaking and listening. This 5 week course delves into the works of 5 street artists including Damian Ortega, Antony Gormley, Marc Quinn, Rachel Whiteread and Micheal Craig-Martin. Each week explores key art concepts including, colour and composition through sampleas of their work. You will engage in group discussions, take notes, and recall information. By the end of the course, you will be able to name significant sculptors, describe their artistic methods, sport similarities and differences among their work, deconstruct essential components of artworks, and select a preferred piece based on personal opinion.

This course will cover the changing currents of the ways in which the Visual Arts in Britain have evolved over the Twentieth Century. It will be broken into 4 parts; the pre 1914 period, the War and its aftermath, the post WW2 years and lastly the period 1980 onwards. The foci will be on changing relationships with international art, the impact of the Wars on art; and also how art maps in in relation to evolving concerns about equality and in relation to rapid urban and social change

This course is for women only. It will be held at the Dolphin Women's Centre, Washwood Heath, Birmingham and is an ESOL course for learners at Entry Level 1. The course will help you to develop your basic writing skills in English. This is an English course aimed at adults for whom English is not their first language. You will get lots of opportuntities to practice your new English skills in groups and individually, you will also be given homework tasks so you can continue to practice at home. If you are suipporting someone to find an English class you have come to the right place. This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority.
