This course is 30 hours of follow-on skills for the Beginner Sewing into Business course. On this course you will learn how to carry out essential alterations. You will learn, inserting zips into cushions and outdoor furnishings, adjusting waistbands with elastic for a custom fit, gain understanding of how to alter school uniforms, including sewing badges and hemming pants. You will also be guided in researching how to monetize your sewing skills, gaining insights into market demands and business strategies. This course provides a blend of practical sewing techniques and entrepreneurial knowledge, equipping you to confidently tackle common mending tasks and explore business opportunities.

This course is for women only. It will be held at the Dolphin Women's Centre, Washwood Heath, Birmingham and is an ESOL course for beginners. The course will help you to develop your basic speaking and listening, reading and writing skills in English. This is an English course aimed at adults for whom English is not their first language. You will get lots of opportunities to practice your new English skills in groups and individually, you will also be given homework tasks so you can continue to practice at home.. If you are supporting someone to find an English class you have come to the right place. This course is funded by West Midlands Combined Authority.

The Level 2 Certificate in Preparing for the Community Interpreting Role enables learners who are speakers of other languages to develop the language and skills necessary to go on and train as Community Interpreters at Level 3 and Level 4. The course is designed to give them the opportunity to build their confidence using their newly learned ESOL skills, by letting them put them into practice in a safe environment. It focuses on giving the learners the opportunity to use their speaking and listening skills to engage with the tutor and their classmates, celebrate their own achievements in completing their previous course and stretch themselves to engage in a class activity. The course should help to build the learner’s confidence so that they feel comfortable enough to use these new ESOL skills in their day to day lives.
