This taster course is ideal for you if you have regular contact with autistic children or teenagers. It is aimed at parents, family members, community workers, or volunteers who interact closely with autistic kids. It can be useful both if you are going through diagnosis, and also if you feel you need extra resources to help support a developing autistic child.

On this course you will be invited to think about the implications and affects that stress can have on both mental and physical health. Stress can lead to serious health problems if not recognised and dealt with in time. This course will offer you the opportunity to become more aware of what causes stress, the different types of stress and how to recognise the signs and symptoms associated with each type. This course is for carers, those who have cared, and the cared for. In a bit of a rut with lunch ideas? Cook along with me, in real time, to make delicious lunches. We will use seasonal ingredients as far as possible (nothing too expensive), making healthy savoury and sweet dishes. The recipes will be on Canvas in advance so that you can go shopping, and will have alternative ingredients to suit your dietary requirements where practical. You are welcome to ask plenty of questions as we go along, and there will be time for you to socialise within the session. Do you want to improve your reading? Come and join Improving my reading with Quick Reads. Classes are held in a friendly and supportive venue in partnership with Deeplish Community Centre. This class is for ESOL learners who are currently at Entry 2 and you will need to complete a skills check before joining. After this course, you could move onto the Award in ESOL Skills for Life Writing Entry 2, and continue your journey in the English language.

The course covers how to identify and define your niche within the arts and crafts sector; the basics of pricing products to ensure profitability; key steps to setting up an online shop or selling at local markets; simple marketing techniques to attract customers, including using social media. This course is perfect for beginners and requires no prior business knowledge. By the end of the session, you will have a clear understanding of the first steps needed to launch their arts and crafts venture and make your creative passions profitable.

What is a muse? How and why has this convention endured for centuries? On this focused course, we explore the identity and representation of the muse through the lives and work of three female artists: Claude Cahun (1894-1954), Eileen Agar (1899-1991) and Isabel Rawsthorne (1912-1992). Each week we focus on one artist, examining their individual backgrounds, training and a range of influences that helped to shape their practice across either painting, photography or sculpture. By exploring their work and artistic intentions we will discuss how the traditional concept of the modern muse was powerfully subverted by each of the artists.
